Post Monsoon Meet
ERRR……Or should we call it "MONSOON MAGIC" Away Away we flew on the wings of comaraderi, propelled by the magic of bondage, guided by caring thoughts, and of course fueled by the over flowing barrel of Georgian Spirits.
The coup de grace was delivered by Col KR Chandran who addressed the Cadets at our School on the "Art of Winning" which mesmarised all present in the Assembly Hall. The secret of unlocking our hidden potential was made open amongst dynamic interaction with all present.
The high light was the small introduction and inspirational words provided by Mr.K.Sukumaran, (Roll No.21/RH), Mr. G.K.Moiuddeen (Roll No.20/RH) and Mr. PB Krishnan (Roll No. 35) . It was a tremendous gesture on their part to attend the seminar and share with the Cadets their experiences as the senior most members of the Georgian Community.
WELL ! …….. Back to the Party……. The CMP Auditorium was a wonderful venu, just right in Georgian Spirits. A group of young CMP Volunteers made sure that there was no shortage of fuel at least in our compound. "HATS OFF" to the ladies and wonderful children who attended. The Jazz Band made sure that every one was kept entertained with poignant music of the 60's and 70's with interpolation of the latest hits. The dance floor was occupied with fathers trying to catch up lost time with their children. Of course many young …… stags gyrated on the floor much to the envy of all.
On the lawns the senior Georgians formed their own groups, and many such groups or better called gangs seriously pondered for the first hour on the fate of the world, state of economy etc. All this quickly changed with some fast recharges and every body was back to being a normal Georgian.
Great slogans and slangs flew across the hallowed portals of the CMP lawns, the Bar refused to be closed, and so great was the feeling of well being that all Gerogians requested the Band and the CMP held to have dinner first before themselves. Such a great sacrifice is to be recorded in sacred annals of Georgian History.
The short eats, came and went and as time passed no body knew the difference between the dishes. One group swore on all Gods that they were given fish tikka which was never on the menu.
Blissfully the Band packed up, the CMP help disappeared and slowly struggled home the warriors of the Georgian Army fully satiated in body and soul.
Over thirty telephone calls were received as apologies and with a sheepish expression "Hey…..I believe you guys had a jolly good time".

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Georgians,
Greetings and best wishes to you all.
I took over as President of the OBA on 05 Feb 2008 from Col (Retd) KR Nair. At the outset I would like to thank you all for the trust and confidence reposed in me. I sincerely seek your guidance and active co-operation to carry out the tasks and goals set out for the year.
In the first meeting the question addressed was that besides the welfare of the OBA members and OBA activities, does the OBA have a larger vision and responsibility. What comes primarily to mind is the slogan written on the front gate as you leave the school namely “FREELY YOU RECEIVED AND FREELY SHALL YOU GIVE”.
It is for each of us to introspect singly and collectively and contribute our mite in all and every facet that can bring laurels and glory to our alma mater.
It is not in the Georgian sprit to lament, procrastinate and criticize. We have been taught to lead from the front with a do or die spirit, never asking what we can do for others and to society at large.
Commendable examples of this spirit has been shown by several Distinguished Georgians in Defence, Civil and in the field of industry and enterprise.
I call on and all of you to restore the glory and redefine the mission and vision of the OBA in the new era which our country has embarked upon. Primary areas to be addressed are.
-
Broad basing our membership, and every member should make it a point to enlist one new member to OBA;
1(a) BIG BONANZA – A full set of souvenirs will be given to all new members at concessional rate of Rupees Five hundred.
1(b) All other Georgians School alumne can use our chapter for a one time membership fee of Rs.1001/-
1(c) All Passing out cadets of XII Std will be enrolled as members @ Rs.250/- which is valid for five years after which the regular subscription of the balance Rs.750/- will be levied for continuing life time membership.
- Chapters at various states and districts should be revitalized, purposive meetings held and the Georgian spirit re-kindled.
- Contribute to the academic excellence of the school namely to ensure maximum entry to NDA which is the prime purpose of the School
- Organize extra curricular activities of high quality in a purposive fashion and revitalize the spirit of adventure and leadership in our cadets.
- Raise funds primarily to meet the objective of building accommodation for OBA members at the school;
- Ensure a long time fund flow and reserves for the healthy running of our OBA.
Several steps have been initiated at the school by your OBA.

The School name has been changed from Military School Bangalore to Rashtriya Military School Bangalore since June 2007.
The mandir is under full renovation and should be completed by Apr 30th.
The football field 2 and the area occupied by construction workers has been reclaimed leveled and transformed back to its original use. A Rashtriya Krishi van (garden) is being developed with active consultancy from the OBA members who are professionals in the subject.
Obituary
Your OBA records with deep sense of grief the passing of Col Ravikrishnan (524 RH) on 25 Jan 2008. Condolence was offered to the grieving family and wreaths laid on your association’s behalf.
Leadership Courses
It was decided to request senior Georgians to address the Cadets regularly to impart knowledge of leadership, courage, and discipline to the Cadets.
Appeals
Your association requires a sum of Rs.2.5 lakhs for its normal activities in the year. Constructions of toilets for our accommodation (05 Numbers) will require a further sum of Rs.7 lakhs. We would also have to make provision for academic support to the school. All this is only possible with your active support and co-operation. Besides the normal revenue from the advertisements in the Annual Magazine special efforts and initiative are required from all concerned in the form of individual donations, Chapters collection of funds, institutional and corporate support and social activities. I appeal to one and all to give the highest priority and effort to our noble cause.
